The institution
Tier 1 · Court-proven
West Chester Christian School (WCCS) is a small private K–12 religious school at 1237 Paoli Pike in West Goshen Township, West Chester, Pennsylvania. It is a ministry of, and affiliated with, Bible Baptist Church of West Chester, an Independent Fundamental Baptist congregation at the same address. Because the school is the church’s ministry, the two are documented on this single page, as the public record treats them.
Randy Lee Boston taught at the school from 1979 to 2008 — 29 years — as a fifth-grade teacher. In 2021 a former student reported abuse from the 2007–2008 school year; Boston was convicted at trial and sentenced to 20 to 40 years. The full record is in Case No. 1.
Not this institution: Bible Baptist Church of Shickshinny, a separate church in Luzerne County where Boston later served as pastor. Similar name, different institution; this archive never merges them.
What the record shows — and what it does not
The judicial record establishes Boston’s employment, the offenses, and the conviction. It contains no finding against the school, the church, or any administrator, and no second teacher at this school has been charged in connection with it in the sources reviewed. Anything beyond that belongs to the allegations tier, below.
Attributed allegations concerning this institution
Tier 2 · Attributed allegations
- A July 13, 2021 Change.org petition by former student Mindy Bell (a student 1980–1989) alleges that reports of physical, emotional, and sexual abuse at the school spanning 1975 to the present were covered up by the administration; that corporal punishment, including pants-down paddling, was routine; and that some students who reported abuse or bullying were expelled. The petition asks the Chester County District Attorney to investigate the school. It closed with 125 supporters. These are allegations, not findings.
- Public reviews by former students describe harsh corporal punishment and reference a survivor Facebook group, “I survived West Chester Christian School.” Reviews are unverified personal accounts.
- The publisher of this archive, a former student, has publicly alleged that multiple pastors and principals allowed Boston to continue with access to children over roughly twenty years, including internal prayer-based handling instead of reports to authorities. Attributed allegation; unadjudicated. Full text and labeling in Case No. 1.
